How long have you been a member of Olivet?
I have been a member of Olivet from my “Cradle Roll” years. I was baptized at age 9, so I am approaching 51 years as a Christian and 60 years here at Olivet.
Olivet is under new pastoral guidance. What accomplishments have been the most encouraging within the last 12 months?
We are renewing and expanding our affiliations with other churches within our district and convention. Also we are paying down debt and making improvements to our property.
What new goals and/or ideas would you like to see achieved within the next year? The next 5 years? The next 10 years?
No new goals, just steady accomplishments of previous goals. That is, expansion of ministries that are driven by needs; continuation of improvements and renovation of our buildings. Of course, this must be done while remaining spiritually focused.
What passage of scripture would you cite to confirm your faith in the achievement of these goals? Why?
“God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.”------------------------------------------------------ Psalm 46:1
“And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Romans 8:28
I believe that if Olivet seeks God as her refuge [and stays within the refuge by being obedient to Him] God will use any and all circumstances to accomplish what He desires in us and through us.
