Women of Power

Scripture:

Philippians 2:3-5 3 "Let nothing be done through selfish ambition or conceit, but in lowliness of mind let each esteem others better than himself." 4 "Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others." 5 "Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus."

Colossians 3:12-14 12 "Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering;13 bearing with one another, and forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you also must do." 14 "But above all these things put on love, which is the bond of perfection."

Luke 8:1-3  "And it came to pass afterward, that he went throughout every city and village, preaching and shewing the glad tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with him." 2 "And certain women, which had been healed of evil spirits and infirmities, Mary called Magdalene, out of whom went seven devils, 3 and Joanna the wife of Chuza Herod's steward, and Susanna, and many others, which ministered unto him of their substance."
Colossians 3:23-24 23 "And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men; 24 Knowing that of the Lord ye shall receive the reward of the inheritance: for ye serve the Lord Christ."

The Olivet Baptist Church Women of Power Ministry seeks to bring women closer together and worship the Lord by sharing their talents in service to the church.  Women of Power originated around the mission of cooking and food fellowship for the Olivet Baptist Church.  Whenever food was needed for a church function, Women of Power was the spearhead ministry coordinating these activities.  Due to the lack of operational culinary facilities, Women of Power has shifted its focus to serving the congregation in whatever ways are now needed.  Some of their service has been expressed in fundraisers for the church, health awareness education and participation in decorating the church for special occasions.  The Women of Power Ministry assists Olivet in:

  • Preparing food for the congregation and community.
  • Serving tables during food fellowship.
  • Sponsoring our Breast Cancer Awareness Month Observance.
  • Developing and implementing fundraising activities.
  • Creating social opportunities for women to fellowship one with another.

Women of Power is seeking women who:

  • Love the Lord.
  • Believe there is strength in unity among women.
  • Have a willingness to cook and prepare food when needed.
  • Will serve in the congregation when called upon.
  • Have a warm and genuine spirit.

If this describes you, please become a part of Women of Power.
